For admission to undergraduate engineering programs in the VIT group of Institutions, the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted every year. VITEEE Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must follow the following eligibility criteria to get admission to VITEEE 2024 –
Nationality
- Applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO / OCI.
- NRI applicants can directly apply under the ‘NRI Category’ through the NRI application form
- Foreign applicants who studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
Age Limit
- Applicants whose DOB falls on or after 1st July 2002 are eligible to apply for Engineering admission in 2024.
- The DOB as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
- Applicants should produce their certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counseling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination
Students should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2024, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
- Final exam of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
- Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. (Physics & Mathematics – HL, Chemistry – SL)
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for UG Engineering programs. Applicants should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
- Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.
- For Indian Nationals appearance in VITEEE 2024 is mandatory to be eligible for B. Tech. admission.
- In case VITEEE 2024 gets canceled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-24 or valid SAT. Students will be informed of specifics in such cases.
Qualifying Examination Performance
Applicants applying for the VITEEE 2024 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in their qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate). Candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) for the following categories:
- Applicants belonging to SC/ST
- Applicants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Certificates to prove community/nativity should be produced at the time of counseling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

Candidates (PCMB/PCM) who will attempt Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Aptitude in VITEEE 2024 will be eligible for all B. Tech Programmes.
PCMB/PCB applicants who will attempt Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Aptitude in the VITEEE 2024 & PCB applicants who will attempt Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Aptitude in the VITEEE 2024 will be eligible only for the following programs:

VITEEE Application Fees
Candidates have to pay Rs.1350 through online mode as VITEEE application fees. For test centers that are abroad, candidates have to pay the equivalent of USD 90 INR. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded in any case.

VITEEE Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidates will be based on the rank secured through Computer Based Test. Those who qualify in the exam will be called for counseling based on their rank. Candidates whose rank is up to 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling to all four campuses, VIT – Vellore, VIT – Chennai, VIT – AP, and VIT – Bhopal. VITEEE Rank holders above 1 lakh are eligible for counseling to VIT – AP and VIT – Bhopal campuses only.

Procedure to apply online for VITEEE 2024
- Go to the official website of the University
Step 1: New User Registration
- For this step, an email address and active mobile phone number will be required.
- Candidates have to fill on the registration form first, available on the home page.
- Enter all the asked details carefully
- On the registered number, you will get an OTP for verification
- After OTP Validation, a password will be sent to the registered email address.
Step 2: Filling Online VITEEE 2024 Application Forms
- On the homepage, click on the login tab and enter your registered email address and generated password
- After this, fill in all the relevant details carefully
- After filling in the primary details, an application number will be generated
Step 3: Application Fees Payment
- Further candidates have to pay Rs. 1350 as an application fee through Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, or Paytm.
Step 4: Photo and Signature Upload
- After successful payment of the application fee, candidates have to upload a recent passport-size photograph
- Photograph must be taken on light background
- The size of photograph should be 20 kb to 300 kb
- The format should be JPEG
- Dimension should be width (300 to 400 pixels) and height (400 to 550 pixels)
- After this, candidates have to upload a signature
- Please draw a rectangular box of size 6 cm (width) X 2 cm (height) on an A4 white paper.
- Sign with a dark blue or black pen within the box.
- Scan the signature in (.jpeg) format using a scanner and crop the image.
- While cropping the image make sure that the dimension should be 3.5 cm (width) X 1.5 cm (height).
- The scanned signature image size should be within 20 kB to 300 kB.
Step 5: Download the filled-in Application Form
- Download and save the filled-in VITEEE application form for your reference and further correspondence.
- Applicants NEED NOT SEND a hard copy of the VITEEE 2024 filled-in application form to VIT.
VITEEE Counselling
For all the VIT Group of Institutions, the VITEEE 2024 counseling process is the same. The online VITEEE Counselling will be held in 5 phases. The rank, schedule, and choice entry will be available in the counseling portal. During the counseling procedure, candidates have to pay a non-refundable counseling fee of Rs.5,900. Candidates may select the campus/program/fee category. The allotment will be based on the VITEEE Rank. Once the required admission fee is paid, a provisional admission letter will be available on the web portal.

FAQs Related to VITEEE 2024
Question: Does VIT offer admissions through Management quota?
Answer: There is no Management Quota in VIT. Admissions to B.Tech. program in VITs is based on the merit rank obtained in the VITEEE 2024 and for other UG programs, it is based on the merit of the XII/ Higher Secondary Boards.
