XAT is a national-level entrance exam used for selecting eligible students for management education programs in various institutes across the country. XAT is recognized as one of the oldest competitive examinations. Its score is being utilized by 160+ institutes for admission. XAT 2025 is expected to be conducted in 1st week of January 2025. XAT Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for XAT 2025 are as follows –

  • Applying candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university, with a minimum duration of three years or its equivalent in any discipline.
  • Final-year students in their Bachelor’s degree awaiting for results are also eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit for XAT.

XAT Application Fees

While applying for XAT 2025, candidates have to pay the following application fees

  • XAT Registration Fee (without late fee) – Rs. 2100
  • Candidates interested in the XLRI program need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200/- each.
  • Candidates from India applying for GMP (through GMAT) – Rs. 2500
  • Candidates (NRI/Foreign) applying for 1 or more programs (through GMAT) – Rs. 5000

Candidates have to pay the application fees by using a Debit Card (RuPay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. After paying the application fees, candidates have to save the e-receipt for future use.



XAT Selection Criteria

  • Group Discussion/ Personal Interview
  • Final Selection according to the participating institutes.

XAT Exam Pattern 

  • Mode: Computer-based test
  • Duration: 3 hours 10 mins
  • Question Type: 100 MCQ and 1 descriptive question
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark for every correct answer
  • Total Questions: 101
  • Negative marking:
    • – 0.25 would be deducted for every wrong response
    • No mark would be deducted for the GK and essay writing section.
    • – 0.10 would be deducted for every 8 consecutive unattempted questions.

Procedure to Apply Online for XAT 2025

Step 1 – XAT registration and creating login credentials

  • First, visit the official website of XAT – xatonline.in to apply for XAT 2025

  • Now enter the asked details for registration for XAT 2025
  • Your XAT ID will be generated
  • Now re-login to the website using the same credentials

Step 2 – Filling XAT Application Form

  • Enter your personal and academic details in the XAT application form
  • Enter your work experience details as asked
  • Fill in the XLRI program details and upload your documents

Step 3 – Pay the XAT application fee

  • Use the online payment mode to pay the XAT 2025 application fee
  • Now take a printout of the XAT Application Form for future reference
