The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts common entrance examinations for the selection of candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate Vocational, Professional and General Degree Courses in the State of Bengal. WBJEE is conducted to get admission in the academic session 2024-2025 to UG Courses in Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture of different Universities, Government Colleges, and Self-Financing Engineering/Technological Institutes in West Bengal state. The exam will be conducted in offline mode (OMR).

WBJEE Exam Pattern
West Bengal JEE consists of two papers i.e. Paper I for Mathematics and Paper 2 for Physics and Chemistry. There will be three categories in both papers. Check here the detailed WBJEE 2024 exam pattern.
- Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions
- There will be three categories
- Category 1:
- Each Question carries 1 mark.
- Only one option is correct.
- There is a negative marking. 1/4th of the total mark will be deduced for wrong response.
- Unanswered questions receive a score of 0
- Category 2:
- Each Question carries 2 marks.
- Only one option is correct.
- There is a negative marking. 1/2nd of the total mark will be deduced for wrong response.
- Unanswered questions receive a score of 0
- Category 3:
- Each Question carries 2 marks.
- One or more options is/are correct.
- If all appropriate options are chosen, 2 marks will be given.
- There is no negative marking.
- A 0 mark will be awarded for any response that contains both the right and wrong answers.
- The scores given for a partially accurate response are equal to 2 X (the number of correct alternatives indicated plus the total number of correct options).
- The inability to answer the question will result in a score of 0

WBJEE 2024: Papers and Ranking
- Candidates who will appear for Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry) are eligible for a General Merit Rank (GMR) and a Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR). And these candidates can be considered for admission in all the courses of Pharmacy and Engineering.
- Candidates who are appearing only in Paper II are eligible for PMR only. Such candidates are eligible for admission into Pharmacy courses only (except in Jadavpur University).
- Candidates who will only appear in paper-I are not eligible for any rank.

WBJEE 2024: Instruction for answering in OMR Sheet
- Use only blue/black ink ballpoint pen. The pen will be provided by WBJEEB.
- Any other kind of marking, e.g., filling the circle/bubble incompletely, filling with pencil, cross mark, tick mark, dot mark, circular mark, overwriting, scratching, erasing, white ink(prohibited), marking outside the circle/bubble etc. may lead to wrong/partial/ambiguous reading of the response.
- WBJEEB will be, in no way, responsible for such an eventuality, and this may lead to the cancellation of the OMR sheet.
- Response once marked cannot be edited/changed/erased/modified.
Procedure to Apply for WBJEE 2024
- Candidates can first visit the official website of the WBJEE
- Then you have to click on the WBJEE Tab, you will be directed to another webpage
- on this page, candidates have to click on “Online Application Form Submission for WBJEE 2024” link
- Now candidates have to click on “New Candidate Registration” if you are new
- Then first go through the instructions carefully and then click on I Agree
- WBJEE Registration Form will appear on your screen
- Enter your details, mobile number and other address
- Then create a password, review the details again and submit the registration form.
- You will get a generated application number. After this, you have to fill in other details and upload the scanned documents.
- Choose the zone for examination and pay the WBJEE application fee.
- Submit the Application form and then download the “confirmation page” and keep it safe.
WBJEE Admit Card
WBJEE Admit Card will be available online from 18 April 2024 to 28 April 2024 on the official website for downloading. You must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/ distorted/ soiled, even by accident. Any mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit card may not be allowed in the examination hall.

Documents required at the Examination Centre
- A printed copy of the admit card.
- A copy of the color photograph same as uploaded during the online application.
- Any photo identity card in original such as an Aadhaar card/ PAN card / Passport/voter card/ 10th standard admit card/ School – ID card.
WBJEE Answer Key
Model Answer Key for WBJEE 2024 will be available on the official website for a brief period. Candidates can view the WBJEE Model Answer Key by logging in to the website using the application number and password. Also, candidates can challenge the WBJEE Answer Key within the given time limit, on payment of Rs.500 per question. The board will further review the challenges and publish the Final and Frozen Answer Keys.
WBJEE Result
The board will also make available the images of OMR and machine-read responses for a brief period. You can log in using your application number and password. Candidates who are unsatisfied with the captured OMR Sheet can challenge online within the given time with a payment of Rs. 500.
WBJEEB will finally publish the WBJEE Result as a Rank Card containing all the relevant ranks, total scores, and component scores in Paper I and Paper II. If you will have any query related to the WBJEE Result then you can contact the board through email([email protected]) within 24 hours of the declared result.
WBJEE Ranking and Merit Lists
Based on the WBJEE’s scores, WBJEEB will prepare a merit ranks. Students will be able to view and also download their rank cards from the official website to check their rank and score. The board does not publish any score or rank to the public to ensure the confidentiality of the individuals. Two separate Merit Ranks (General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)) shall be generated based on the papers that they appeared for.
General Merit Rank (GMR): Based on the total marks obtained in Paper I and Paper II, General Merit Rank is prepared. The ranking shall be done in descending order of the total marks scored in all the subjects. Admission to all Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy Courses at Jadavpur University will be based only on GMR. The sequencing orders for counseling/allotment of seats/admission will be based only on the General Merit Rank.
Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR): It will be prepared based on the score obtained in only Paper II (Physics and Chemistry). The ranking shall be done in descending order of the total marks scored in all the subjects. Admission to all Pharmacy Courses except in Jadavpur University shall be made based on this merit rank.
WBJEE Counseling
The board will release a separate notification regarding counseling and admission on the official web portal. Course-wise and institute-wise availability of seats will be published before counseling and allotment of seats.
