Who is eligible for CLAT 2025?

Candidates wishing to appear for CLAT 2025 must fulfill the exam eligibility criteria set by the NLU Consortium. The admission criteria for NLUs and CLAT eligibility are largely the same. The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2025 are;

  1. UG: CLAT 2025 Eligibility: Educational Qualification – Candidates should have passed 12th class from a recognized board and institute. Candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks in class 12th, SC, ST candidates are eligible to obtain 40% marks in class 12th.
  2. PG: CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025: LLM CLAT is a Post Graduate course. Candidates must have completed LLB Graduation from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). They should have secured at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC and ST candidates) in their graduation.

CLAT age limit: 

The consortium has not prescribed any age limit to appear for the CLAT exam. Candidates can appear for CLAT exam at any age or any number of times.

CLAT Exam 2025 Registration

The registration for CLAT 2025 is expected to start in the first week of July 2024. Interested candidates can register online on the official consortium website – consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Registration fee is Rs 3,500 for general candidates and Rs 3,000 for SC and ST candidates. Those who need the official CLAT previous year papers will have to pay an additional cost of Rs 500 apart from the application fee.

CLAT Marking Scheme 2024

There will be a total of 120 questions in the CLAT UG exam and on each correct answer, the student will get 1 mark, making a total of 120 marks. Similarly, CLAT PG exam will also have 120 questions, where 1 mark will be given for each correct answer, making a total of 120 marks for the exam. However, 0.25 marks will be deducted in both the exams for each wrong answer.
