CAT Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories],

Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply

CAT 2024: Reservation of the Seats

As per the legal requirements, the reservation of seats is as follows –

• 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC),
• 5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST),
• 27% for Other Backward Classes belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC),
• 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
• 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).

Candidates can pay the following application fees through online mode. The CAT application fee is non-refundable.

CAT Selection Process 2024

The admission in IIM will be based on the composite score of all the rounds along with the academic performance of the candidates. Shortlisting the eligible candidates varies for every IIM. Candidates have to visit the official website of the respective Indian Institute of Management. In general, the selection of the candidates will be based on

• a Written Ability Test (WAT),
• A personal Interview (PI)

Post to the COVID, some of the institutes only conduct Personal Interview rounds.

Procedure to apply online for CAT 2024

Follow these steps to apply for the CAT 2024 –

• First of all, candidates have to visit the official website of IIM CAT 2024

• Now on the home page, click on the Registration Link for CAT 2024
• Fill in all the details and register yourself.
• After registration, your login ID and password will be generated.
• Use the generated ID and password to log in
• After this, fill out the CAT Application form carefully
• Pay the application fees, and upload the documents
• After the successful submission of the CAT 2024 application form, you can download it for future reference.

CAT Mock Test

On the official website, the CAT Mock Test will be provided by the conducting body. This is done to help candidates face the actual examination with confidence and also to manage timing in solving questions. By appearing in the CAT mock test, candidates can get an idea of how to move between different sections.

CAT Admit Card

The CAT admit Card will be released at the start of November 2024. After downloading the CAT Call Letter, candidates must check the details carefully. If there is any error in the CAT Hall Ticket, you must contact the conducting authority. All the information regarding the CAT 2024 date and time, guidelines to be followed, and the required documents for the exam day are present in the CAT 2024 Admit Card.

CAT Result

Candidates can check CAT results on the official web portal. To check the CAT 2024 Result candidates must know their login details (Login ID and password).  After the announcement of CAT 2024 Results, colleges other than IIMs will release their cut-off marks.

Indian Institute of Management will release the minimum CAT cut-off category-wise and section-wise in their individual IIM admission criteria or policy. The qualifying CAT cutoff acts as a minimum eligibility cutoff to get shortlisted for GD, PI, and WAT.
