Tata Steel Ltd. invites applications for positions in Bearings Division, Kharagpur as Trainee
Minimum Educational Qualification All India Trade Test for Apprentices Pass (National Apprenticeship Certificate) from NCVT in Trades of
Fitter/ Machinist/Electrician
Marks a) Minimum 55% marks aggregate in the AITT for Apprentices for General Candidates
b) Minimum 50% marks aggregate in the AITT for Apprentices for SC/ ST Candidates
Emoluments The selected candidates will be placed as Assistant (Trainee) for a period of one year from the date of their
joining. They shall be paid a Stipend of Rs. 10775/- per month during the training period and post
successful completion of one year training and post training evaluation, if found suitable, they will be
placed with a starting Basic Pay of Rs 8,000/- pm, on Fixed Term Employment Contract for a period
of 1 (one) year, in the grade of FBG 4 and will be designated as Assistant I- (Service Area/ O&M). The
other emoluments & benefits will be as per Company’s rule applicable to this grade
Training The selected candidates will undergo one year of defined training program which will include evaluations
and suitability tests.
Selection Procedure Online/Written Test followed by an Interview and Medical examination.
Candidates who are found ineligible as per the laid down criteria, at any stage of the selection process will
be immediately disqualified from further selection process.
Note: All candidates, who qualify in the online/written test and are permanent employees of any of the Tata
Group Company or Subsidiary or Associate Company of Tata Steel Ltd. will need to bring their NOC at the
time of interview, without which they will not be interviewed.

Mandatory Experience (i) Minimum three (3) years of work experience as on Feb 1, 2022 after passing All India Trade Test
for Apprentices.
(ii) Minimum two (2) years of work experience as on Feb 1, 2022 after passing All India Trade Test for
Apprentices, only for candidates who have successfully completed Apprenticeship Training from Tata
Steel
–Bearings Division.
For candidates who have passed ITI / ITC (possessing National Trade Certificate), and then passed All

Automobile Industry (preferably those who work in auto component manufacturing
facilities), or Auto ancillary Industry (those working in Car garages or Car showrooms are
not eligible)
