| Lower Division Assistant (LDA) | 1. Candidates should have completed in the Higher Secondary Examination ( 12th standard) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a recognized Council / Board.
2. Candidate should have Good Knowledge of in the vernacular of the state. |
Candidate’s age should not be below than 18 years of Age and not over than 40 years of age. |
Age Relaxation –
Age Relaxation in upper limit will be given to only reserved categories candidate (SC/ST) and special category (Sports Person/EXSM etc.) of only permanent domicile of West Bengal state only as per State government rules and regulations as following

Preliminary Screening Test (Phase – I) – (OMR Based Test)
Subjects – Arithmetic, General Knowledge and Computer Proficiency, General Intelligence, English
Total Full Marks – 100 Marks
Total Number of Questions – 100 Questions for One Mark Each
Wrong Answer – Negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer
Medium – English Language only
Mains Competitive Written Test (Phase-II)
Subjects – Arithmetic, English Essay and Precis Writing, General Knowledge
Full Marks – 300 Marks (100 Marks Each)
Exam Duration – Total 03 hours in single seating.
Qualifying Marks – 40% in each subject and 50% aggregate in total marks.
Viva Voce Test (Phase –III)
Full Marks – 100 Marks
Merit List – The marks obtained in Competitive Written Test and viva-voce shall be considered at the time of preparing overall final merit list. Marks obtained by the candidates in Preliminary Screening Test shall not be carried forward in the further stages.

Important Facts –
- There will be four series of question booklets.
- Marks obtained by the candidates in Preliminary Screening Test shall not be carried forward in the further stages. Admit Cards issued at the inception shall be valid for further stages of examination including viva-voce.
- Cut-off / Qualifying marks in Phase-I Examination (OMR based) shall be 50% to qualify for Phase-II Examination (Competitive Written Test). On the basis of the result of Phase-I Examination (OMR based), the number of candidates shall be called for in the Phase-II Examination (Competitive Written Test) ten (10) times of the vacancies as detailed under Sl. No. 1 of this Notification, as per availability.
- Admit Cards issued at the inception shall be valid for further stages of examination including viva-voce.
- Admit card will not be sent by post. It will be available on official website of High Court of Calcutta. Candidates are required to download and take a print out of the e-admit card from the few days before exam date. Download date will be published on official website of High Court.
