Eligibility Criteria
Those who are going to apply for the UPSC ESE Exam 2025 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria –
- Nationality: Indian must be an Indian, Bhutan, Nepal, or Indian-origin migrants who have settled permanently in India from
- East African Countries of Uganda,
- Kenya, Pakistan,
- The United Republic of Tanzania,
- Ethiopia,
- Malawi,
- Sri Lanka,
- Vietnam,
- Zaire,
- Burma, or
- a Tibetan refugee who settled in India permanently before January 1, 1962, with the certificate issued by the Government of India
- Age Limit: 21 to 30 years
- Age Relaxation for reserved categories is as below
- SC/ ST: 05 years
- OBC: 03 years
- Defence Services Personnel: 03 years
- Ex-servicemen: 05 years
- ECOs/ SSCOs: 05 years
- PwD Candidates: 10 years
- Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering from a recognized Institution/ University along with other qualifications.
UPSC ESE Application Fee
Individuals have to pay the following UPSC Engineering Services application fee by any of the below methods –
- Offline payment: To pay the offline application fee, individuals have to first generate a challan and then deposit the cash to any of the SBI branches. Payment by cash mode will be closed one day before the last date to fill out the online application form.
- Online payment: To pay the application fees in online mode, individuals can make payments via SBI Net Banking/ Visa / Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking of SBI.

The Union Public Service Commission also provides application form withdrawal facilities. Individuals will get the link to withdraw the Engineering Services application form on the official website of UPSC. The link will allow individuals who have earlier filled out the UPSC Engineering Services application form but cannot appear in the examination, to withdraw their submitted ESE application form and cancel their online registration.
