UPSC 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Number of Attempts: The number of attempts permitted varies depending on the category of the candidate:
- General Category: Six attempts
- OBC Category: Nine attempts
- SC/ST Category: There is no restriction on the number of attempts until the upper age limit is met. (Excluding exempt categories)
Physical Fitness: Candidates must meet specific physical and medical standards to be eligible for certain services such as the Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFOS).

UPSC 2024 Interview
Candidates who have qualified UPSC 2024 Mains will be called for personal interview round. It assesses the personality, communication skills, leadership qualities and overall suitability of the candidate for a career in the civil services.
The personality test is conducted by a panel of experts and consists of 275 questions.
The final selection of the candidates is based on the total marks obtained in the main examination (written) and personal interview. The preliminary exam is considered a screening test and its marks are not added to the final merit list.
