Reservation and Relaxation –
Reservation & Relaxation will be given to only reserved & Special categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/EXSM/ Sports Person/ Women/ Dependent of Freedom Fighter /PWBD etc. ) of only permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh having UP State domicile certificate as per UP State government rules and regulations. Reservation guidelines as laid down by Government of India from time to time for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD etc. shall be followed. Candidates claiming reservation under reserved categories should submit certificate as per the Govt. Prescribed format issued from the competent certifying authority.

Exam Pattern –
Negative Marking for wrong answers 1/3 marks will be deducted as penalty.

The selection process for UPPSC AE Recruitment will involve a written exam and interview followed by document verification. The stage-wise details of the UPPSC AE Selection Process 2024 are mentioned below:
- Written Test – The written examination consists of prelims and mains examination to assess the candidate’s knowledge in General Hindi, General Studies, and relevant disciplines. Those who qualify the Paper 1 & Paper 2 will be invited to the next stage.
- Interview – The authorities will assess the communication skills, personality, and professional knowledge of the aspirants through the interview.
- Document Verification – Aspirants who clear prelims, mains, and interviews will have to undergo document verification to get an appointment.
Preliminary Examination –
- One Paper of Objective type Questions
- Total No. of Questions – 150 (General Knowledge – 25 Questions, General Hindi – 25 Questions, and Engineering Aptitude – 100 Questions
- Total Marks – 300 Marks (Each Question of 02 Marks)
- Duration – 02 hours.
- Preliminary Examination will be of only Qualifying nature.
A detailed UPPSC AE Exam Pattern 2024 will be unveiled by the authorities under the official notification PDF. The UPPSC AE Mains exam will include Paper 1 and Paper 2 to assess the knowledge of aspirants in core discipline subjects along with a non-technical section.
Each paper will consist of 125 questions. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The exam will end in a time duration of 2.5 hours.
